Businesses will vary in type and size but the need for protection is the same for all business owners. A lawsuit may be made against a business for various kinds of negligence but there are policies available to safeguard your business and employees. A few types of these policies are: Commercial Auto, General Liability, Professional Liability and Worker's Compensation.
Commercial Auto:
This insurance provides coverage for any vehicle that does not qualify for a Massachusetts Personal Auto Policy. This coverage would include vehicles that are registered to a corporation or an LLC.
General Liability:
This insurance protects against claims of negligence which have. resulted in Bodily Injury and! or Property Damage.
Professional Liability:
This insurance can protect against errors or omissions of your work which has resulted in the failure to perform as guaranteed.
Worker's Compensation:
Keep in mind that if you have any employees, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires you to purchase Worker's Compensation to cover on-the-job injuries. Sole Proprietors, Partnerships, and members of an LLC are not automatically included in coverage but can elect to purchase it for themselves. Corporate Officers are automatically included in coverage but do have the option to opt out.
