ARTHUR S. PAGE INSURANCE AGENCY HELPS THOSE IN NEED WITH A SHOE DRIVE TO BENEFIT SOLES4SOULS® INC, THE SHOE CHARITY.

With the partnership of Soles4Souls Inc., we have committed to collect and distribute shoes to people living in extreme poverty and recovering from natural disasters. Shoes are the best way to protect local people from disease after a natural disaster. Also, in some countries a child must have shoes to attend school; not owning shoes is one of the reasons why so many children do not go to school.

There are an estimated 1.1 billion people in the world living without a pair of shoes, 300 million are children. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has shoes distributed more than 13 million pairs of shoes, almost one pair of shoes to a person in need every 7 seconds. Soles4Souls hometown is Nashville, TN and when the floodwaters from the Cumberland River ruined numerous homes in May of 2010, the organization sprung to action here in the United States. Soles4Soles not only distributed 85,000 pairs of shoes to Nashville residents but also clothing and water to those people whose possessions had been lost from that natural disaster.

Our agency will be collecting new or 'gently worn' footwear and/or donations to make a tangible difference through the gift of shoes. Every donation will support the Souls4Soles initiative to distribute shoes to those in need. We will be holding our shoe drive between July 25th 2011 and August 22nd, 2011. Donations can be made Monday-Friday from 7:30AM-5PM.

In a previous newsletter we discussed how to protect yourself when doing home renovations. Your insurance policy discusses two different ways of determining value of items:
Actual Cash Value (ACV) and Replacement Cost Coverage (RCV)

Actual Cash Value (ACV) is the value of your insured property, in dollars, at the time of a loss. This amount is whatever it will cost to replace the property, minus a deduction for depreciation (age, wear & tear, etc).
An additional coverage that can be applied to your policy is for Replacement Cost Coverage (RCV) and it covers the replacement of your damaged property without a deduction for depreciation.

Insurance Tip:
Make an inventory, in writing or on video, of all your belongings. Store this list/video somewhere outside the house
